Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on
August 26, 2002), known professionally as Lil Tecca, is an American rapper and
singer. The single he released in 2019 "Ransom", was his breakout
hit. It reached the top spot at 4 in the Billboard Hot 100. This single was
part of his first mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019) which peaked at
fourth place on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also featured singles Love Me
and Did It Again. His debut album"Virgo world" (2020), debuted at the
top of the Billboard 200 at number 10. It included the Billboard Hot 100
chart-charting songs "Dolly", as well as "When You Down".
The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It
included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and others.
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe is the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born
August 26 2002 in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in Queens in
Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe eventually moved to Cedarhurst in Long
Island. Sharpe was a child with ambitions to become an athlete in basketball,
but Sharpe switched to music at age twelve. He completed his studies at
Lawrence High School. When Tecca was nine years old, he catered to his interest
in music through rapping with friends over his mic on his Xbox. One of their
diss tracks was posted to SoundCloud several years ago, but it was removed. At
first, he didn't plan to embark on music and instead was aspired to be an NBA
superstar. When he was in middle school However, he began to lose interest in
basketball and took music seriously. His first single to become famous,
"Tectri", was composed by Lil Gummybear in partnership with Lil
Gummybear and released in early 2017. Tecca also released "Callin" in
the same year, which was one of his early tracks. The career of Tecca began a
year later when he released the smash single "Ransom", which was
uploaded to Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel in May 22, 2019.
The track reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been able to
get over 800 million plays on Spotify and more than 300 million views on
YouTube.
