Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was aware that she was gifted for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas to become an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s and set an all-time junior world record. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
